We are delighted to announce that this year we will be organising a New Years Eve Salsa Ball at The Lansdown in Cheltenham.

Beginners salsa class from 8pm followed by fun line ups and party with DJ'sThomas Melendez ,Robert Jessop - playing the best Salsa, Kizomba and Merengue.  Bar until 1am and party until 1.30am.

Chocolates and nibbles, beautiful regency venue with dancefloor, bar and chill out area.  

Tickets £12 in advance and £15 on the door

Simon a.k.a Lord Bachata has been dancing and entertainin since he was 8 years old.  Disco and Brake Dancing were previously his fortes.  His dancing continued on a more serious level throughout his teenage years, directing and leading various dance projects, including recreating Michael Jackson’s Thriller Routine.  He also had a passion for Gymnastics and Swimming which he participated in alongside his dancing.

Simon took his first Salsa class in Jan 2004 and still loves it.  He spent the first 14 months just learning and social dancing, getting to know what salsa was all about. He then discovered Bachata in 2005 and loved that too. That same year, Simon won his first (mini) Bachata Contest at Club Cubana’s Latin Explosion Weekend at Brean Sands. He was also placed in the top 3 at the British Amateur Salsa Contest.  In 2007, he became the European Open Bachata Champion during his time with Seraphim Dance at the UK Salsa Congress.  A couple of years ago Simon discovered Bachatango and now takes his workshops around the UK.  His disciplines now involve teaching Bachata, Bachatango (Sexy/Funky Style), Mambo/Salsa on 1-2 and Cha Cha Cha.

Simon believes that everyone should have fun dancing no matter what their level or ability.  He does and that’s why he believes that at the age of 70 he’ll still be a Bachatero and a Salsero.
